Died 3/3/1918 Grave E.30.5 HASLAR ROYAL NAVAL CEMETERY.

Born son of John Channon Dec 1891 – Fulham, London, married Dorothy Winifred Marsh 1914 Bromley living at 8 Oakfield Rd, Penge.

HMS Scott was a destroyer named after Sir Walter Scott launched October 1917 but mined or torpedoed off the Dutch coast on 15/8/1918 by the German U boat UC 17 with the loss of 22 of the crew.

According to the CWGC,  AB John George Channon died while serving on HMS Scott on 3 March 1918
