Second Lieutenant King’s Royal Rifle Corps 2nd Bn. Killed in action 14/09/1914 Age 21  LA FERTE-SOUS-JOUARRE MEMORIAL 

Son of Mr. H.W. Forster, M.P. and the Hon. Mrs Forster, of 41 Hans Place,  London. 

Henry William Forster was MP for Sevenoaks until 1918 and then for Bromley followed by Governor General of Australia from 1920 to 1925.

He married the Honourable Rachel Cecily Douglas-ScottMontagu and both their sons were killed in WWI. Lt Alfred Henry of the 2nd Dragoons, Royal Scots Greys died aged 21 on 10 March 1919 and is buried at Exbury St Katherine, Hants so he is not on the Beckenham war memorial
