We believe Charles Shuter was brother to my grandfather, William Thomas Shuter, born in Farningham c 1881. He served in the police, lived in Barnet and died c 1929 before I was born and so I know little of family history. My father, also WTS, and aunt Lilian Edith Ada spoke of family having worked in apple orchards but seemed not to have contact with family in Farningham. Neither ever mentioned an uncle having died in WWI so this is a recent discovery.
