Acting Bombardier 324, RGA SR/334 disembarked Egypt 1st June 1915.

Killed in action 27th June 1916, aged 47, buried Mailly Wood Cemetery, Mailly-Maillet.

On his way home from 15 mnths in the Dardanelles was transferred to France where he was killed within a few days.

Brother of Mrs L R Porter of 370 Katherine Road, Forest Gate, London. Born Beckenham   abt 1873,  age at enlistment  41 when of 153 Parish Lane. 

His mother Susan was born in Lewisham; on the 1881 census her husband was Henry working as a bricklayer and living at Kelsey Cottages Beckenham
