Drowned 4/5/1917 when on way to Egypt as ship the HMT Transylvania was torpedoed although was seen launching a life raft.
As the troops were being rescued, a second torpedo had been released from the Uboat U63 and the ship sunk immediately with the loss of 421 men.
Most were buried at the SAVONA cemetery.
