In 1939, a national register was taken at the outbreak on World War 2. On this register are records of the Stock family living at 1 Manor Way, that is The lodge inside the main park gate.
Charles Robert Stock, and his wife Lilian F Stock, are the residents of the property. Charles’ occupation is shown as Park Superintendent, suggesting the property was reserved for use by people involved with the park.
Few records exist after 1939, owing to the material relating to living individuals.
Charles went on to become a member of the Langley Park Rotary Club.
In 1991, Charles Stock passed away, and a bench was installed in his memory.
